More Convenient: Merchants Can Now Accept Payments via Midtrans Static QRIS

Midtrans launches the Static QRIS feature to add a payment option for merchants and to support the payment digitalization program in Indonesia
Jakarta, May 27, 2025 — Midtrans, a payment gateway service provider in Indonesia and part of GoTo Group, has launched the Static QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) feature, which is available to all merchants starting in May 2025.
Read this information before choosing the right payment service for your business! With this feature, merchants using Midtrans services can now generate a QRIS and display it on their website, on social media, or as a printout placed at the cashier counter to receive payments from buyers.
The launch of the static QRIS feature is also part of Midtrans's support for the payment digitalization program in Indonesia initiated by Bank Indonesia.
Boan Sianipar, Head of Midtrans said, "We are committed to always delivering an easier, safer, and faster transaction or payment process, one of which is through the static QRIS feature that we launched this month. Midtrans's static QRIS feature allows consumers to transact simply by scanning one fixed (static) QR code that works across various digital payment apps. With this convenience, merchants no longer need to provide multiple separate payment methods, so operations can become more efficient."
The steps to activate the Midtrans Static QRIS feature are as follows:
-
Open the Midtrans dashboard, select "Payment Methods" and click "Activate Static QRIS",
-
Select QR GoPay Static, follow the activation steps, and submit it for verification,
-
Once verification is complete, on the "Payment methods" page select the "Manage static QRIS" tab,
-
Click the "generate QRIS button" then select "download PDF" to get your payment QRIS,
-
The QRIS in PDF form can also be printed so you can receive payments during offline transactions.
This static QRIS feature complements the payment methods already available at Midtrans, namely e-wallets, credit/debit cards, and virtual accounts.
QRIS usage itself continues to rise. Based on the results of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors meeting in April 2025¹, payment transaction volume using QRIS in Indonesia increased by 169.15% YoY. In addition, throughout the first quarter of 2025, QRIS users in Indonesia reached 56.3 million with a transaction volume of up to 2.6 billion². This growth shows that QRIS has great potential as a digital payment method, and for merchants, this trend can be an opportunity to expand market reach and improve transaction efficiency.
Midtrans remains committed to building an inclusive and sustainable digital economy ecosystem in Indonesia through various innovations, and to making it easier for merchants to offer payment solutions to consumers.
